 1024x1024 Textures question?!

Hey All,

I know we can use 512x512 texture, but can we also use a 1024x1024 since it's still a value of 2!?

WARNING: I am no texture expert but I will give it a shot. affraid

I believe you can. From what I have read from the TRS2006 CCG anything by the incriment of 2 can be used. (512 by 512 like you said)

So, with TS2009 using higher texture passes I would think you can make them 1024 x 1024.

I have in the past, but I'm talking about Gmax models and 06.
Don't know about Blender models or 09, but a very interesting point.

Hi guys/girls and others and thank you Ishie for inviting me here.

Yes, one can use that size of textures, I presume for content creating, yes? One can even use 2048x2048 pixels but this will blow the cdp size out a lot Smile. Realistically, for TRS 09 creating one has to use 1024x1024 and somewhat hires textures or the model looks not very good with normal maps.

I hope this is what you wanted to hear/read?

While I have your attention, Ishhie, what was it about the Bluebirds RDCs you like? As I haven't uploaded these yet to the DLS at AURAN. I am upgrading these with normal maps in the near future but as these TRS04 Bluebirds have some scripts running and as some scripts have been changed in TRS09, I have to see what has changed and how to implement/work around the new changes.

If you would like to try and experiment with  some of the BlueBirds (beta) I can send you a d/load link for some of them.

Yes, sir ... actually I have been experimenting with big textures, basically for billboards and signs. I noticed that the bigger they are the better they look. Thank you sir for your explanation ... Indeed, it was what I wanted to hear and read!!! cheers Basketball
